1. About Gidalet

Gidalet is a property rental platform owned and operated by Gidavest Ltd, a company registered under the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of Nigeria. Gidalet connects landlords, agents, and tenants through a transparent and technology-driven rental experience.

2. Eligibility

To use Gidalet, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be a Nigerian resident or have a valid Nigerian bank account
• Provide accurate and truthful information during registration
• Have a valid NIN (National Identification Number) or BVN (Bank Verification Number) for identity verification

3. User Roles

Gidalet has three types of users:

• Tenants: Individuals seeking rental accommodation. Tenants pay annual rent upfront and save towards their next year's rent via monthly auto-debit.
• Landlords: Property owners who list their properties through registered Gidalet agents. Landlords receive annual rent payments automatically.
• Agents: Licensed property professionals who register and manage landlords, list properties, and onboard tenants on behalf of Gidalet.

4. Zero Agency & Legal Fees

All agent commissions and platform fees are deducted from the landlord's side. This is a core commitment of the Gidalet platform and will never change for tenants.

5. Payment Terms

By booking a property on Gidalet, you agree to the following payment terms:

• Tenants pay one full year's rent upfront at the time of booking
• Monthly auto-debit begins the following month to save towards the next annual rent
• All payments are processed securely through Paystack
• Funds are held in escrow by Gidavest Ltd until annual rent is due
• Landlords are credited their annual rent at the end of each tenancy year

6. Auto-Debit Authorization

By completing your first payment on Gidalet, you authorize Gidavest Ltd to:

• Automatically debit your registered card or bank account on the 1st of every month
• Debit the monthly amount specified at the time of booking
• Retry failed debits up to 3 times before flagging your account

You may cancel your auto-debit by contacting us at admin@gidalet.com with at least 30 days notice before your next rent due date.

7. Identity Verification

All users on Gidalet are required to verify their identity using a valid government-issued ID (NIN or BVN). This is required to:

• Protect all parties from fraud
• Comply with Nigerian financial regulations
• Ensure the integrity of the platform

Your NIN or BVN is never stored on our platform. We only store a cryptographic hash for verification purposes. Your biometric data remains private.

8. Keys Loyalty Program

Gidalet operates a loyalty rewards program called Keys. Keys are earned through:

• First booking bonus: 1,000 Keys
• Monthly auto-debit: 1 Key per ₦1,000 debited
• Referrals, anniversaries and streak bonuses

Keys have no cash value outside of the Gidalet platform. Gidalet reserves the right to modify, suspend or terminate the Keys program at any time with reasonable notice.

9. Tenant Exit & Refunds

If a tenant vacates a property before their annual rent due date:

• The tenant must notify their agent and landlord in writing
• The agent and landlord must confirm clearance (no damages, no outstanding dues)
• Remaining wallet balance will be refunded to the tenant's registered bank account within 7 business days
• Refunds are subject to Gidalet's administrative processing fee

10. Agent Responsibilities

Agents on Gidalet agree to:

• Provide accurate property listings with truthful information
• Not charge tenants any agency, legal or hidden fees outside the platform
• Respond to tenant inquiries and issues in a timely manner
• Maintain professional conduct in all interactions
• Complete identity verification before listing any property

11. Prohibited Activities

The following are strictly prohibited on Gidalet:

• Providing false or misleading information
• Listing properties you do not have authority to rent
• Charging tenants fees outside the platform
• Attempting to bypass the platform for direct transactions
• Using the platform for money laundering or fraudulent activities
• Creating multiple accounts for the same person

12. Limitation of Liability

Gidavest Ltd is not liable for:

• Disputes between tenants, agents and landlords that arise outside the platform
• Property damage or maintenance issues
• Losses resulting from failed transactions due to insufficient funds
• Third-party service failures (Paystack, Dojah, etc.)

13. Termination

Gidalet reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms of Service. Users may also deactivate their accounts by contacting admin@gidalet.com.

14. Changes to Terms

Gidalet may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Users will be notified of significant changes via email and in-app notification. Continued use of the platform after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be resolved under Nigerian jurisdiction.
